Vijayawada, Nov 12: Corporator Sri Apaji has welcomed the Andhra Pradesh Government’s decision to release ₹90 crore towards the honorarium of Imams and Muazzins across the state. He said the announcement made by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu on the occasion of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s birth anniversary is a historic step towards strengthening Minority welfare. Speaking to the media, Apaji said: “Imams and Muazzins play a vital role in guiding society with spiritual and moral values. The CM’s decision to provide ₹15,000 monthly honorarium is a big relief and a sign of respect for their service.” He also appreciated Deputy Chief Minister Sri Pawan Kalyan stating that both the CM and Deputy CM have shown true commitment to solving Minority issues and fulfilling long-pending promises.

Vijayawada:12 AP Waqf Board Chairman Janab Abdul Aziz stated that the Andhra Pradesh Government has once again proved its strong commitment to the welfare of minorities. The Government has sanctioned ₹90 crores in the 2025–26 financial year budget to provide an honorarium of ₹15,000 per month to all eligible Imams and Muezzins across the State. Expressing happiness over this decision, he said the Government has released honorarium amounts for April, May, June 2024, and from January to September 2025. He described this as a major relief to the thousands of Imams and Muezzins who work tirelessly to uphold harmony, spirituality, and moral values in society. He said the Muslim community extends heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu, who has shown true sincerity and fairness towards minorities. He praised the Chief Minister as a leader who treats all social groups equally and fulfills every promise made to Muslim minorities. Abdul Aziz further stated that he would personally monitor the distribution of funds to ensure that every eligible Imam and Muezzin receives the honorarium on time. He added that due to the Chief Minister’s visionary leadership, administrative expertise, and commitment to equality, the development of minorities is moving in a new and positive direction. He also conveyed special thanks to Minority Welfare Minister Janab N.M.D. Farooq. He urged all Imams and Muezzins to move forward with trust and confidence in the Andhra Pradesh Government.

Vijayawada:12 In a proud recognition of sporting excellence, Ms. Shaik Shabeena was honored with the “Best Rising Sports Person Award” by the Andhra Pradesh State Urdu Academy, under the Minorities Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The award was presented on the occasion of the 138th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, celebrated as Minorities Welfare Day. The felicitation ceremony took place at Tummalapalli Kshetraiah Kalakshetram, Vijayawada, in the presence of distinguished guests and officials. Shaik Shabeena expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Janab N. Chandrababu Naidu Saheb and Hon’ble Minister for Minority Welfare Janab N.M.D. Farooq Saheb for their continuous encouragement and commitment towards promoting education, sports, and welfare among minority communities. She also thanked the Andhra Pradesh State Urdu Academy for recognizing young talents and motivating them to excel in various fields, especially sports.

Vijayawada, Nov 9: The State-Level Lawyers’ Carrom and Chess Competitions, organized by the Andhra Pradesh State Bar Federation under the leadership of its President Sri A.K. Basha, concluded successfully this evening at the Vijayawada Court Complex. The two-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from across Andhra Pradesh, with more than 400 advocates representing various Bar Associations competing in carrom and chess. Over 50 participants emerged as winners, showcasing great sportsmanship and unity within the legal fraternity. The valedictory function was graced by Hon’ble Justice Sri Nainala Jayasurya Garu, Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, who presented medals and trophies to the winners. Speaking on the occasion, Justice Jayasurya appreciated the Federation’s efforts, stating that such programs bring advocates from all regions together, strengthening unity, discipline, and mutual respect among the legal community. Addressing the gathering, Sri A.K. Basha , President of the AP State Bar Federation, thanked all participants, Bar Associations, and judges for their wholehearted support. He said, “These competitions are not only for recreation but also for building brotherhood among advocates. I thank all members who made this event a grand success. During the event, Sri Chalasani Venkat , son of Sri Chalasani Ajay Kumar , Member of the Andhra Pradesh Bar Council, was felicitated for his remarkable efforts in securing the release of ₹48 crores Matching Grant Fund from the Government for the families of deceased advocates. Hon’ble Justice Nainala Jayasurya personally congratulated Sri Chalasani Venkat , appreciating his contribution and dedication to the welfare of advocates across the state. The ceremony was attended by Sri K. Seetharam , Joint Secretary of the AP State Bar Federation, along with several governing body members, senior advocates, and junior lawyers.

Vijayawada: Hon’ble MLA of Vijayawada West, Sri Sujana Chowdary Garu, inaugurated four new science labs Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Zoology at the Government Urdu Junior College, Kabela Centre, established with the support of Sujana Foundation and Bhagyanagar gas Company MD Karnati Ram Mohan Rao Garu. The MLA recalled that during his visit seven months ago, the college classrooms and infrastructure were in poor condition with no science labs. I decided then to provide proper facilities for Urdu Speaking students so they can compete equally with others, he said. He appreciated the efforts of Mohammad Abdul Khader Garu and Principal Hafiz Shaik Ahmad for coordinating the requirements and ensuring the smooth setup of the labs. The MLA also arranged mid-day meal facilities for students and assured continued support for further development. For any minority related work, just send me a proposal I’ll make sure it’s done, he assured. When asked what inspired him to take up the project, he said, It’s my duty and an act of humanity to help my people especially Muslim students and small business owners. On future plans, he added, “Any proposal related to education or community development I’m ready to support. Minority leaders Janab Nagoor Mera and Janab M.S. Baig also attended the event and lauded the MLA’s dedication to improving facilities and promoting education among the Urdu-speaking community.
